Minor Digital ethics
Big Data, algorithms, AI, blockchain, robotics, and drones are examples of modern digital technologies that will drastically alter how we communicate information, acquire knowledge, and make judgements. This creates new moral and social problems. For example, while digital technology encourages knowledge distribution, it also puts data power in the hands of the state and the Big Tech industry through digital monitoring. Technology is a tool for achieving values such as safety, convenience, and efficiency. For example, we use 'remote monitoring' technology to detect disturbances in nightlife areas so that police can intervene immediately. Through the use of cameras and sensors, we provide children with epilepsy with a safe place to sleep at night. Sometimes you have to make difficult decisions: whose safety is more crucial in a self-driving car? Is it the occupants or the children playing outside? In such a circumstance, a value conflict occurs, which can escalate into a complex moral problem.
